Nature photography is an art as well as a perspiration that enamours all of us in awe and wonder. Not only the subject but it is also the moment captured that makes a photograph great. Not only capturing wild free roaming life forms are essential, still subjects like habitats, rivers, mountains and valleys have to be enmeshed in the frame for a spectacular effect.

Photography is most thrilling, but difficult as well. It involves hard work, dedication and patience. In order to appreciate nature one needs to capture beauty by composing skilfully and engulfing strands of light delicately.

Wildlife photography is not only a profession it is also a service to mankind since the efforts deliver better understanding of complexities of nature.  Timing is very important for wildlife photography. Lighting cannot be controlled as in a studio; opportunity arises all of a sudden be it at dawn, noon or dusk one has to be prepared all the time.
Wildlife photographers have to invest in time as well as constantly updating equipments. Cameras, lenses, stands and flash lights are prohibitory expensive.

In order to be good at wildlife photography understanding of the subject is essential. Hence you have to become a good naturalist first and understand animal behaviour well. In India visiting natural sites like National Parks, sanctuaries and tiger reserves or even wilderness areas near your town is mandatory. Continuous involvement means investment in accommodation and transportation which costs money.

Some equipment you will have to invest is a good digital camera and long lenses. If you are interested in birds than 400 mm to 800 mm lenses are most suitable. For insects macro photography helps in capturing good images. A good Macro lens of 100mm or like is suggested. Do carry a good wide angle lens for habitat photography.

Other equipment in your kit bag should include a good tripod or monopod for support and getting sharper images, extra battery and memory cards.

Madhya Pradesh offers lots of opportunity for wildlife photographers with 5 national parks open for tourism including Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Pench, Panna Satpura, and Tadoba Nagzira Umred , along with many other reserves with flora and fauna which will keep you enthralled for ages.
