Birds Of Bandhavgarh National Park



Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve and National Park is one of the most popular tiger heavens. It is situated in the districts of Umaria in Madhya Pradesh.  It is a mixed forest with large water bodies and the Charan Ganga  , Damnar, Banbai, Jhiria, many other River flows through it.  The forests are mixed type with bamboo pure Sal belts are rarely met with.
The topography comprises of low rise mountains interspersed with grasslands.  There are small water bodies besides the Bandhavgarh.
Thus varied habitats provide excellent living space for variety of birds including the wetland species. Some of the key species are mentioned below.

The list of avian species is very large at Bandhavgarh. Hence the forests are the best place for bird watching in Central India. The trips can be organized along with tiger safari in the Core zone of the park as well as the buffer. Wetland birds can be seen at the Small dam.
