BandhavgarhFort Visit Bandhavgarh Fort Oldest Fort India – One of the oldest forts in India, the Bandhavgarh Fort unfolds the legendary of Shri Rama in Ramayana, when Shri Rama upon returning to his state back, after conquering the war from Ravana, stayed at this place and built this fort to gift his dear brother Lakshamana.

A visit to this place is an experience by itself. The trek to this fort begins from the left of the spot called the ‘Shesh Saya’. This spot brings a unique 11 meters long statue of the Hindu God, Vishnu. A pool of spring water can also be found in front of the statue which is said to be the source of the stream known as Charan Ganga.

The Bandhavgarh Fort area is also filled with many temples where most of them depict the various reincarnations of Lord Vishnu. All these temples date back to around 10th century where one of these temples also has the carvings of Lord Ganesha. There are other three temples in the vicinity of the fort that reflect the 12th century architecture. Within the Bandhavgarh Fort, the vast grasslands brings much serene and lush beauty and many lakes are flecked over the fort which are still filled with water and prove to be the large reservoir for many turtles.

The total footpath of the fort will take you around an hour and a half the fort is the most relinquishing part on the earth for those who are interested in archaeology and other related subjects and for religious people the existence of number of temples brings heavenly experience. Along with that there are several man made caves with inscription and rock paintings in the fort.

Monsoon Jungle Safari In Buffer Zone

Dhuandhar Waterfall, Bhedaghat - The Dhuandhar Falls is located on the Narmada River and is 25 kms away from Jabalpur city. It is also called India’s Niagara fall or the Smoke cascade because the water current here is too high and when it falls at high speed it creates a fog like effect. Being at 98 ft high, it is still a popular destination edged by evergreen trees and shrubs. The sight of Narmada River falling down from a great height is a sight to behold. The smoke cascade formed by the water sprays, works as a treat for the eyes.

o   Clothes: Wear light cotton clothes or comfortable partially synthetic clothes that can dry off quickly if you happen to get wet. A windcheater is useful to keep you warm during the rains, one without lining is better than one with as most parts of India are quite warm once it stops raining. If you plan to go to a hill-station which is cooler and where it rains quite heavily, a jacket with a warm lining would also be useful.

o   Umbrella / Windcheater / Raincoat: Generally to just walk around cities, an umbrella should work just fine to keep you relatively dry.  But for the trek and safari a windcheater or a raincoat is recommended

o   Shoes: Closed water-proof shoes are essential to keep your feet clean. Avoid wearing open rubber slippers or sandals that will only dirty your feet.  Wearing sneakers or canvas shoes is also a bad idea as they take a long time to dry when they get wet.

o   Mosquito Repellent: The monsoon attracts plenty of mosquitoes and it is best to prevent yourself from being bitten and hence a mosquito repellent is recommended.

o   Sunblock: You can still get sunburnt so make sure you always use sunblock even if it is raining.

o   Personal Medical Kit: Carry all the required medicine as it is difficult to get the require medicine immediately
